Reimagining Global Public Investment— A New Mandate for Capital and Cooperation
Host: Club de Madrid and Pvblic, FOSD
Moderator: Ketan Patel, Chairman, Force for Good
The world is facing an unprecedented convergence of global challenges, from environmental degradation and pandemics to mounting inequality, displacement, and fragile infrastructure. As multilateral institutions and governments contend with rising needs and shrinking budgets, there is an urgent call to rethink how we fund the global commons and who has a seat at the table. Global Public Investment (GPI) offers a transformative new framework rooted in shared responsibility, collective benefit, and inclusive governance. It reimagines development financing as a universal model where all contribute, all benefit, and all decide. Yet, to truly scale this model in a multipolar and interdependent world, we must expand the stakeholder base. This panel examined how GPI can evolve to integrate family offices and private capital as trusted partners in financing the global public good.

The World Investment Plan: Catalysing a Global Boom for Good
Host: Pvblic, FOSD
Speaker: Ketan Patel, Chairman of Force for Good
Force for Good’s latest report The World Investment Plan: Building the Transition to a Secure, Sustainable and Superior Future warns that the world is on a perilous trajectory, with turbulence from wars, climate shocks, technological disruption, migration and social unrest reflecting a deeper civilisational shift from the Industrial to the Information Age. Without bold intervention, democracy, already back to levels prior to the fall of the Berlin Wall, risks backsliding further amid deepening systemic instability, stalled human progress, and escalating climate disasters. The report sets out a US$125 trillion World Investment Plan through 2035, 98% suitable for profitable private capital participation, building infrastructure, climate defences, connectivity, healthcare, education and housing, with AI at scale driving prosperity and resilience. Re-engineering risk, building enterprise systems globally and incorporating nature in asset pricing are key levers to unlock a positive future and drive constructive collaboration and competition.
